Transport
Due to the layout of the wedding venue, hiring a vehicle straight from the Airport is advised.
It is very simple to book online, for a reasonable price too.
Hiring a vehicle gives you the advantage of freedom to explore at your leisure.
Please don’t worry, the South Africans also drive on the left side of the road just like the British.
The roads are very easy to follow, especially with Google maps.
However, if you do not feel comfortable to do this then please do not hesititate to contact Billy or Hollie to try and create an alternative option. If you are travelling in a group then it might be easier to hire
a mini van or a 6-8 seater vehicle.
Lunikhy is just one hour’s drive from the airport.
Here is a list of links to hire car companies at the airport: (There are more options on Google)
For our international guests, Woolworths is very much like Marks and Spencers Food Hall.. lots of yummy treats and healthy varieties!
There will be a Bar after the wedding which will be strictly card only.
There is also a very cool onsite Deli that will be open from the hours of 6am to 8pm during your stay.
They offer Artisan coffees, and a wonderful selection of snacks and breakfast plates at reasonable prices.
As this venue is on a Private Lodge and not close to any shops, we advise you to bring anything that you may need to make your stay more comfortable.
Health & Safety Information for Your Trip to South Africa
Malaria & Mosquitoes
Rest assured, more than 90% of South Africa is malaria-free, and our wedding venue is located in a completely malaria-free area. There is no need to worry about malaria during your stay. However, as with any outdoor location, mosquitoes may be present. We recommend using mosquito repellent for added comfort. A highly effective local brand, Peaceful Sleep, is widely available at the airport, supermarkets, and pharmacies.
Vaccinations & Health Precautions
There are no mandatory vaccinations required for entry into South Africa. However, as with most international travel, it is advisable to ensure that your routine vaccinations, such as MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella), Diphtheria, and Tetanus, are up to date.
Importantly, there is no risk of Yellow Fever in South Africa. However, if you plan to visit other African countries before or after the wedding, please check their specific entry requirements, as some may require additional vaccinations.
Water & General Safety
For your convenience, bottled water will be provided throughout your stay, as we recommend avoiding tap water.
Additionally, as you immerse yourself in South Africa’s incredible wildlife, please remember to observe all animals from a safe distance and avoid any direct contact.
South Africa is a unique and well-developed country
with excellent infrastructure, distinct from other parts of Africa. Should you wish to explore beyond South Africa’s borders, we encourage you to check local health and safety guidelines for each destination.
Climate & Weather
March is an ideal time to visit South Africa as this time is considered to be end of Summer going into Autumn time. The landscape should be lush and green thanks to the summer rain fall. The usual temperature is between 22-28C. You can expect perhaps a little rainfall during this period but lets not think on that one too much and pray to the Sun Gods!

Purchasing a temporary Sim card is advisable at the airport. To ensure that you are online and accessable for the duration of your stay. Its quick, easy and affordable. They will load a sim with your chosen package of data and it tends to last for one month. We recommend Vodacom which is located in Arrivals at the airport.

The plugs in South Africa are a 3 round pin point, please see photo here.
